Passions
A love letter to my interests.

Film photography has been a longtime passion of mine. Whether I’m shooting with my old Canon or a point-and-shoot, I love the hands-on, intentional process that film demands. There’s no instant preview, just one shot to get it right, which makes each photo feel more personal and honest. This project is a reflection of that mindset: slowing down and capturing moments matter.

During the pandemic, I discovered my love of printed media. I began buying The New York Times or Oregonian every Sunday, in hopes of staying up to date and truly discovering the printed paper for the first time. My issue was that after I finished reading, it went straight into the recycling. My solution was to start collaging each week’s top headlines and graphics, to memorialize an unprecedented time in history. These collages cover topics ranging from Covid to the Insurrection to the Olympics. In a time that was scary and unpredictable, this became a safe place to practice art and document, two beloved things to me. Thus, my project 21 Collages of 2021, came to life.

It will be worth the wait, I promise.
